%X This work aimed to use remote sensing techniques for spatial and temporal analysis of soil and landscape variations between the years of 1984 and 2014 in an area of the Pantanal located in the county of Barão de Melgaço - MT. The data used were obtained from Thematic Mapper and Operational Land Imager sensors which are on board of Landsat 5 and 8 satellites. Techniques of OBIA (Object based image analysis) were used to classify the images, to aid in digital processing the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) was calculated. The results were satisfactory, providing relevant information for a better resource management.
